Funded by the Irish Arts Council, COAST is the directorial debut from award-winning writer Tracy Martin.

Nineteen year old Karl finds himself in an empty seaside town and with no money he fills his time cruising for sex on the beach. Ann Marie has taken her own kids on a wild drive away from their Dad and into the psyche of her dark thoughts. Without being able to get her usual anti-psychotic drugs she finds herself parked on the cliff and wondering if driving the car into the sea below would solve her problems. Lonely Marcin finds himself looking for connection and meets Karl, the two go to a men’s toilet and find relief with each other but when Karl asks for money a fight breaks out with dire consequences for Marcin. And Breda, who goes wandering in a dementia riddled daze finds herself lost in the sand dunes, not realising that her niece is desperately looking for her. As these five lives crash into each other we get a glimpse at modern Irish society and the people it has left behind.
